UTA-Alpha Chapter: Eleven women came together in search of an organization they could call their own, an organization that fit their shared values, and created a comfort zone in which each unique personality could thrive. The P.I.N.K. Ladies became an official organization at the University of Texas at Arlington in February of 2004, they then incorporated on March 10, 2004, as Delta Alpha Sigma Multicultural Sorority Inc.
Since the founding of Delta Alpha Sigma, these empowering ladies have made a commitment to their community and their university to educate and provide a true sisterhood, and environment that supports, enhances and celebrates all women.
Along with choosing the cherished letters, the foundation of Delta Alpha Sigma cultivated symbols that were chosen to represent the organization. Each symbol had a meaningful significance: The Gallant Pegasus was chosen as the mascot, for its power, knowledge and inspiration; The Crescent Moon and Star characterize the symbolic connection to womanhood and The Stargazer Lily was selected as the vigorous flower. The colors Midnight Blue and Light Pink were decided upon as the embodiment of a true sisterhood.
